If it has wheels, Joseph and Sharon Benesch have made it in wood – from tow trucks and school buses to even a miniature version of the Utica Club Truck. Sharon and Joseph Benesch often make commissioned work from photographs that people send them to commemorate such special occasions as retirement and wedding anniversaries. They also make rocking horses, a range of Adirondack mementos and toy boxes. Joseph Benesch has been working with wood all of his life. In retirement, he started Joseph Benesch Creative Enterprise with his wife, Sharon. Using oak, black walnut, ash, and cherry, Joseph hand cuts, laminates and hand fits trucks together while Sharon stains and paints. Their specialty is making customized trucks for adults and kids.
